Choosing The Right Videographer

Your wedding day is a very important day and choosing a videographer to make your wedding video is a very important decision. It's possible you've never chosen a videographer before so here are some questions you might like to consider asking.

We're so confident that our wedding video services are right for you we have prepared the following checklist of questions to ask any other videographer that you may speak to.

Other Videographer
Do we like your work? Of Course!

Are you a qualified member of a recognised by a trade body?

(There are only two real videography trade bodies in the UK. The biggest is the IoV (Institute of Videography). The Association of Professional Videomakers is smaller but has a similar qualification scheme.

It is also worth checking the videographer's claims with the relevant trade body because there are some videographers claiming they hold these qualifications when they don't)

Steve Feeney is a Master Member of the Institute of Videography and is bound by their Code Of Practice.

To confirm Steve Feeney's qualification telephone the IoV on 02085 023 817

Do you carry full Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance? Yes - Apart from being sensible, it is also a requirement of the IoV's Code Of Practice.
Do you provide a Bonus DVD of the uncut speeches and the ceremony?

Yes - for the Bouquet and Champagne packages.

The Confetti package is mostly about the ceremony so there is ample coverage in the main film.

Can we choose our own music?

Absolutely yes.

We have been complimented on our choice of music many times and if you would rather leave it all in our expert hands, that's also fine.

Do you have the necessary licences to use commercial music in our wedding video?

The licences needed are specific to your wedding video and will be obtained in advance of filming it.

The licence number should appear on your video somewhere as evidence that it has been obtained. You can also ask to see the licence.

Checkout our page on Copyright Matters.

How many copies do you provide of the finished wedding video?

Three.

We provide one copy in a luxury padded library case for the happy couple.

Two further copies of the main DVD are provided for bride and groom's parents etc.

Further copies can be purchased at the following prices:

£15.00 + p&p for Main DVD
£25.00 + p&p for Main DVD plus Bonus DVD.

Do we have a say over who can buy copies of our wedding video?

Yes. To protect your privacy and to give you control over who buys a copy we will only sell using the official order form.

You are given blank order forms when we deliver the video so you have complete control over who buys a copy.

Do you have a backup and archive policy?

Yes - We keep backups in the following forms.

  • a master tape of the finished programme in full DV digital quality.
  • A master copy of the finished programme in full DV quality on an external hard drive.
  • A Master DVD.
  • A second Master DVD held off site.

Any one of these can be used to make further copies of your wedding video.
