Voiceover Opportunities

Steve Feeney Productions offer short online adverts at competitive prices for a fixed price. These adverts are between 1 and 2 minutes in length and require voiceovers. We recommend 90 seconds maximum because we believe that people rarely watch this sort of material for longer.

We like to offer our clients a choice of “in house” male and female voices which they can select on our “voiceover” page and we would like to invite you to join the team of “in-house” voices.

Within the fixed price to our clients, there is a total budget of £50 per voiceover which includes studio hire and VAT, as appropriate. If you own your own recording facilities and not VAT registered then that’ll be good news.

If £50.00 is below your minimum charge and you would like to be listed as a “Premium Voice Over Artist”, that's fine. The client will be charged your higher rate and it is for you to judge whether you’re likely to receive more jobs.

When a client selects your voice you will be sent a script. You should record the script and return it by email in the approved format (see below).

Margins are tight and retakes time consuming so it’s in everybody’s interest to understand the requirements in advance:

	Finished files should, ideally, be delivered as an uncompressed PCM 48,000 Hz, 16 Bit Mono *.wav file. MP3 files will be accepted so long as they are 196 kbps or better.
	A decent quality microphone must be used.
	Popping is unacceptable.
	Levels should be correct with no clipping.
	Background noise (electrical and environmental) must be less than 50db below peak level
	Room acoustics must have no noticeable echo.
	A discernable pause must be left after each sentence to allow for ease of editing. i.e. it’s much easier to reduce a gap than to extend it.
	A discernable pause must be left between each item in a list for ease of editing.
	You must edit out retakes of sentences or phrases where you have gone wrong.
	It is more than acceptable to provide multiple attempts at certain phrases – we can choose in the edit! For example, you may choose to attempt a company slogan in several different styles. We or the client can choose the version they like the best. Always leave a noticeable gap for ease of editing.
	Delivery is normally expected to be within 1 week although it is understood that this will not always be possible. We would expect you to notify us if it will take longer.
	Payment will normally be made on receipt of invoice but certainly within 28 days

The above requirements may sound onerous but they can be achieved recording in a bedroom (for acoustics) with the window shut and using a digital recorder and a decent microphone!

If you would like to be included on the list of available voiceover artists, please submit a sample voiceover of no more than 30 seconds and produced to the above standards together with your email address and telephone number and (if you wish) a link to other samples of your work. Your email address and telephone number wont be published, we need them to contact you.

You may submit multiple samples of your work to demonstrate different styles but none should be more that 30 seconds.
